How to Mark Your File
for CareerFolios Formatting:

To ensure proper translation of your formatting during the CareerFolio set up process:

  • Use a series of 3 bullets to mark major resume categories (i.e., professional profile, education, experience, etc.).
  • Please provide specific instructions (i.e., "bold all company names and italicize all job titles" or indicate random bolding or italics as described below.
  • To retain special characters in your file (i.e., en dashes, text bullets, quotes, accent marks, etc.): When you save the resume as a text file, make sure the box for "allow character substitution" is NOT checked.

BOLDING: To mark a string of text for bolding, please add <b> before the first word in the string and add </b> at the end of the string.

ITALICS: To mark a string of text for italics, please add <i> before the first word in the string, and </i> at the end of the string.
